Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American actor and singer. Her parents include Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier, both television news directors. Her family was born in Huntington Woods Michigan. Her family ancestry includes Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish, and Scottish (father). Kristen realized her potential in the entertainment industry when she was just a teenager. She was able to land her first role at her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell, who was 13 at the time her mother enrolled as an agent was cast on advertisements for newspapers and television. In addition to taking private lessons and acting lessons, she started her career in the year 2000. Bell was credited with a minor part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School and was a member of the music club and drama clubs. She was the star as Dorothy in the school's play The Wizard of Oz. Following graduation, Bell relocated to New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, where she was a musical theater student. Bell quit the school in 2001, when she was cast in the role Becky to play Tom Sawyer. Her first film credit with Pootie Tang at the beginning of 2001. Her scene, however it was cut and her only appearance is in the end credits. Bell appeared in Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival which featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
