Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore deep into her inner world. She began to be interested in food after moving from the suburbs of Long Island to the diverse culture of Los Angeles. Her belief of the fact that cavatelli and carnitas can co-exist in harmony on a single menu reveals a taste that is constantly evolving. However, what is consistent with her food is a singular vision towards the future while achingly recollecting the past. Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant founded by Lofaso in 2013. She opened it as a result of her American-born Italian heritage. Lofaso is lauded for her interpretation of traditional Italian cuisine. Lofaso is consistently praised by Scopa's patrons for serving food that feels authentic and unmistakably pleasing. Lofaso took her cues from the greats of culinary with sophisticated cooking techniques. But, she was not afraid to take huge risk to follow her intuition. She worked closely with many celebrities and rose rapidly through the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago. Lofaso as well as Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 to launch Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. With Black Market and the business partnerships she formed Lofaso found her new home. The partnership would allow for the freedom of expression Lofaso desired. Black Market does not have a single direction, that's the intention. The menu could start with dill potatoes chips Shishito chilies, and move on to a Korean food item called meatballs, and wings. Antonia is the anchor for this bold array of tastes. Lofaso assessed her success in the field based on her ability to be able to comprehend and appear authentic to her audiences. The Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars emphasized her ability to express her personality outside of the kitchen. In the years since she's maintained her career in front of cameras, including judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge, as well as recurring appearances on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso published The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Easy and Delicious Recipes, in 2012, along with Penguin. It also told the story of her challenges while she studied in the French Culinary Institute. She had a daughter, Xea, as well. Lofaso says that her passion for cooking is the driving for her accomplishments. She continues to be in the know by keeping an eye on trends and fashion. With the Chefletics brand, she is altering the appearance of her field by redesigning clothes for the kitchen that are stylish as well as function. What is important to Lofaso is sticking to your ideals. To achieve this goal, she has launched Antonia Lofaso Catering, which offers a more customized way of offering customers a an experience that is uniquely personal.
